City Council Candidate Forum

Tuesday October 2, 2018, the Laguna Beach City Council candidates had their night to shine.

Kudos to Shaena Stabler, Publisher/Owner of Stu News Laguna, and Tyler Russel, Founder/GM of KX 93.5 FM who produced, hosted and moderated the event. The forum allowed the candidates to give minute long opening and closing statements and answers for hot-button issues currently affecting Laguna Beach residents. There were 2 rapid-fire rounds of 15 seconds each followed by questions submitted by residents.

Each attendee wash given a plastic "hand-clapper" to use when excited by a response and a canvas tote bag full of goodies from local sponsors. Light food and refreshments were part of the evening as well as a raffle for $100 gift certificates for local restaurants, The Cliff, Mozambique, BLK Dot coffee and 2 tickets to the Taste of Laguna 2018.

The candidates did a great job addressing some very tough issues and overall it was both informative and entertaining demonstrating neighborly civility.

If you were unable to attend this sold-out event, Facebook at Stu News Laguna has the video online and KX 93.5 FM aired most of the evening for their listeners.

Hopefully this will be a tradition for City Council elections for years to come. The combined efforts of Stu News Laguna and KX 93.5 FM made it an outstanding forum.
