Keeping it personal with Laguna Fitness

People aren’t just getting into shape at Laguna Fitness, they are seeing life-changing transformations in their health and fitness levels.

Cora Kasperski is an International Federation of Body Building (IFBB) Pro, three-time winner of Best of Laguna Beach and the owner of Laguna Fitness. For almost 20 years, Cora has helped clients reach their goals with a no-nonsense, old school approach that helps her clients get fitter than even they thought possible.

“She loves what she does and it’s infectious. I can’t believe how hard she gets me to work at the gym,” says Colin Petrie. “I was never a big gym guy,” says Mark Ansara. “Personal training with Cora is the best way I’ve found to actually set and achieve goals. The results are clear.”

And it all starts with Cora. When someone signs up for personal training, whether one-on-one or in groups of three to four, they get her undivided attention.

“She doesn’t have assistants,” laughs Nancy Thompson. “But sometimes I wish she did.” No, for Cora, it is personal and she has made it her mission to challenge, push and prod her clients. For Cora, she wants all her clients, but especially her female clients to embrace the idea that strong is sexy.

Cora builds her programs on a foundation of resistance training to help sculpt each client’s physique and then adds cardio to help reduce fat and give the body a muscular lean look. The final touch is careful meal planning and prep. Cora emphasizes all three because she knows it is the only way to get results and she is in constant communication with her clients to make sure they keep on their program.

“She’s always texting me, making sure I am eating right and staying on the program. I love how much she cares,” says Cheryl Moreiko.

Certainly, there are always new ideas around health and fitness and Cora stays current with new developments by constantly reading and attending conferences and conventions. And for those clients of hers that choose to follow in her footsteps and compete, Cora is always there at every competition, helping them to present themselves in the best way possible. The good news: several of her clients have placed in the top five in their first competitions.

But if one word defines Cora’s fitness philosophy it is: consistency. You have to make fitness a part of your life. “I’ve managed to stay with Cora multiple times per week for years and years,” Cheryl continues. “My husband, John, and I come together. We both love Cora, even when she is pushing us.”

Kathi Levan appreciates what Laguna Fitness has done for her.

“I was introduced to Laguna Fitness many years ago,” Levan says. “Cora keeps me focused and I love the many people I’ve met through Laguna Fitness.” Cora doesn’t take her job lightly and while her clients will have fun, they will also work hard, Nancy Thompson’s husband, Mike laughed that while you will get much from working with Cora, there is one thing that isn’t easy to get. “Compliments!!!” he said. You have to earn them but when you do, it feels great.”
